Construction of the Notre Dame Cathedral was started in 1877 and completed three years later. The building has a length of 93m, a width of 35m and a height of 75m. It is located in the heart of District 1.

This is a unique architecture from the French colonial period, designed by architect J.Bourard.

The church was built with construction materials imported from France. The outside of the building was built with bricks made in Marseille.

The HCM City Central Post Office is located to the left of Notre Dame Cathedral. It was built in 1886-1891 and designed by architect Villedieu and his assistant Foulhoux.

This is a work that combines European style with Asian decorative style. Outside, the front of the building is decorated with rectangular boxes, on which are the names of the inventors of the telegraph and electric sectors.

The construction of Nha Rong Wharf (now the Ho Chi Minh Museum) started on March 4, 1863. Originally it was the headquarters of a shipping company of France. Here, on June 5, 1911, the young man Nguyen Tat Thanh entered the ship Amiral Latouche Treville as a kitchen assistant to make his way to Europe to find a way to save his country.

The HCM City People’s Committee Headquarters was built from 1898 until 1909 by architect Femand Gardes. The work simulates the bell towers of northern France.

The HCM City Theatre was built from 1898 to 1900 in the style of Western European architecture. Located at a convenient site in the city center, it is considered the major theater which hosts large events of the city.

The Headquarter of the HCMC People\'s Court was built in the late 19th century, by the French architect Bourard Foulhoux. On top of the building is the statue of the god of justice, with a sword in the right hand and a book in the left.

Ben Thanh Market was built by contractor Brossard et Maupin from 1912 to 1914. The work has four doors and four clock gate towers overlooking four roads in District 1. The market celebrated its 100th anniversary last March.
